John Barrowman to return as Captain Jack Harkness as new details about the festive special are revealed.

It has been revealed that John Barrowman will reprise the role he played in Torchwood and Doctor Who in this years Christmas or New Year's special. 

Barrowman previously featured in an episode in the most recent series, however fans were left disappointed after his much-loved character Captain Jack Harkness missed out on an adventure with the Thirteenth Doctor. Although we may finally get the Christmas present we've been wishing for all year as John Barrowman's return is confirmed.

This comes after, back in February, John Barrowman said "I don't know" when asked whether Captain Jack would return to Doctor Who. "If they ask me to come back," he said, "...I will be back at the drop of a hat."

However, It seems this response may not have been entirely truthful as Revolution of the Daleks was filmed way before series 12 aired. Whatever the reasons for his secrecy, we can now confirm it; Jack is Back!
