Peter Davison celebrates his 70th birthday as Big Finish announces new Fifth Doctor box-set

Fifth Doctor actor Peter Davison celebrated his 70th birthday yesterday while Big Finish Productions announce new box-set.

Following the discontinuation of Big Finish's Doctor Who Monthly Adventures Big Finish has announced a new fifth Doctor box set, the first announced since the Monthly Adventures was cancelled.

It is still unclear whether these box sets will be released regularly as a replacement to the Monthly Adventures although it is expected that Big Finish will make an announcement soon.

Meanwhile, Peter Davison celebrated his 70th Birthday. Davison will star in the new box set, which consists of three stories, one four-part story and two two-part stories, alongside Janet Fielding, Sarah Sutton, Matthew Waterhouse and George Watkins. 

While this may not be the announcement regarding long-term future of the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Doctor audio dramas it is, at least, a start to the new release format.

The Lost Resort and Other Stories is due to be released September 2021 when it will be available to buy exclusively from bigfinish.com and will be available to buy from other retailers a couple of months later. You can pre-order the box-set now.
